31 Jahre hat es gebraucht, dass wir einem Interessenten zugesagt haben einen Welpen über den Teich zu schicken. Wie aufregend war das alles. Bis die Einreisebedingungen geklärt waren, gab es Missverständnisse, die an unterschiedlichen Einreisebedingungen geknüpft waren. Die Kanadische Botschaft in Berlin hatte andere Einreisebedingungen als Doug Fisher von der Einreisebehörde genannt bekam. Letztlich mussten wir später feststellen, dass die kanadische Botschaft in Berlin nicht zutreffende Bedingungen genannt hat. Wie dem auch sei, die Zusammenarbeit mit dem auf internationale Tiertransporte spezialisierten Spedition am Frankfurter Flughafen verlief vorzüglich im Interesse der kleinen VICTORIA, die große Reise konnte beginnen.

15 Stunden war die Kleine unterwegs als sie in Calgary an der Westküste Kanadas landete. Es muss ein berauschender Augenblick gewesen sein, als das kleinel Bündel Hund mit der Rute wedelnd aus ihrer Transportbox kam und so tat, als wäre zwischenzeitlich nichts gewesen.

Danach hatten wir unentwegt Kontakt mit Doug Fisher und wir konnten schnell feststellen, dass VICTORIA es nicht hätte besser antreffen können. Sie hatte gleich zuhause Spielkameraden und, es konnte nicht besser passieren, eine Freundlin von Doug, Mayumi Blary besitzt zwei Dandies und ist ausserdem eine Spezialistin für fachgerechtes Dandie-Trimming.

Und so wuchs VICTORIA die letzten Monate unbeschwert auf, absolvierte die Welpenschule, später das Ringtraining und zwischendurch kümmerte sich Mayumi Blary um die Schönheit. Jetzt ist VICTORIA gerade eben 6 Monate alt geworden, in Kanada die Möglichkeit in die Wettbewerbe einzugreifen und so hatte Doug Fisher einen ersten Plan mit gleich vier Ausstellungen an einem Wochenende. Doug hat alle Tage bei Facebook dokumentiert, den Abschlussbericht möchte ich im Original übernehmen.

GERMAN DANDIES‘ VICTORIA – BIG – 2x (!) BEST PUPPY IN GROUP – Judge: Mr Frederick Fernandez from the Dominican Republic

an absolutely incredible day at the dog show today – Little Tori – German Dandies’s Victoria started off in the rain going Best of Breed, then in the Terrier Group she made the cut but no placement, then picked up Best Puppy in Group and then topped it off by going Best Puppy In Show – which is an amazing feat for a Dandie Dinmont Terrier and especially one that is now 6 months and 5 days old!! I am sorry that this sounds like I am repeating myself but I am very proud of this little girl – I so appreciate Monika and Manfred Rosenbaum for letting me have Victoria – it was not an easy process, thanks to Hilary Oakes as she is the one that finally got Tori to Canada, to Mayumi Blary for being a good friend and a HUGE champion of Tori and Dandies in Canada – Michelle Gaudet much thanks for all you do to make Tori look so good in the ring – it is like you have shown her for years!! It was also probably my most embarrassing show moment as I couldn’t keep the tears in when May cam to congratulate me and I couldn’t get them to stop – Michelle even left the ring without the rosette and prize!! I so appreciate all my friends and fellow dog show competitors congratulating us after the win – I was so proud to be owned by such an amazing little dog and I am glad she is representing Dandies so well in Canada.

What a weekend! Reo the Pom wins two breeds, made the cut in a very tough toy group and won two puppy groups! Beautiful comments from those judges! Kramer picks up his last point and one for insurance to finish his championship. Very proud of this little dog (not to mention his uncle Jimmy had a pretty stellar weekend as well!), very pleased that he is a new champion! The border terriers all did very well, and miss Ariel is now a new champion as well! Phantom picked up more top dog points, and the other two Scottie’s (Mick and Bugatti) picked up some lovely points. My girlie Vienna won the breed all four days, and showed amazingly. Couldn’t have asked for better! The biggest surprise of the weekend was baby Tori, the new Dandie Dinmont from Germany, winning the breed every day and picking up 6 points. Now only did she do that, but she made the cut in the adult group twice, and two puppy groups! Better yet, a Best Puppy in Show under Chris Graham from Australia! He had „admired her all weekend“, not too bad for being just 6 months old! Thanks you to all friends and clients for making this possible! Now to celebrate with some homemade wine from Kramer’s dad!!!
